Brief & Challenge

kitchen-refresh-like-new

The brief was to refresh the kitchen in Arthur’s Pass without replacing sound cabinetry internals. The homeowner wanted a modern look and smoother hardware action while retaining benchtop, sink, and mixer. The goal: a complete visual refresh at a fraction of full replacement, avoiding unnecessary trades and disruption.

What We Did

We re-fronted the kitchen with 18 mm Melteca MDF and Häfele hardware.

  • Removed all exposed doors, drawers, and panels.
  • Installed new 18 mm Melteca MDF fronts and panels.
  • Fitted Häfele soft-closing hinges.
  • Replaced 11 doors, 7 drawers, and 21 panels.
  • Installed customer-supplied handles.
  • Retained existing benchtop, sink, and mixer.

Results

  • Kitchen joinery total: $4,978.79 (incl. GST).
  • Achieved a modern look at a fraction of replacement cost.
  • No painting or plastering needed.
  • Consistent, refreshed cabinetry finish throughout.
